Heartbeat
I've seen some people write that their own heartbeat freaks them out. They don't want to know what's going on "in there". I couldn't disagree more.
I like listening to my heartbeat. I like looking at the inside of my mouth in the mirror. I like touching my body to feel my bones. I like feeling my tendons move in my wrists.
I love how mechanical bodies are, mechanism of flesh and bones. Somehow this mechanism is alive, is self-aware, is me. I find it amazing.
shit I wish tumblr added
tumblr is one of my favourite online places, the perfect blend of social media and custom blog. mmaybe one day I'll babble on why.
sometimes I wish I could change some things and add more features, here's some of them:
- custom status next to username!;
- let me mute users! I don't want to block innocent people but sometimes they post too much crap in tags I search in :(;
- folders/groups/whatever you wanna call them in the drafts. so many people use them to save posts to look up later, and actual drafts also could be organised;
- now listen to me. I'm dead serious with this one. the queue feature is fantastic, I adore being able to post in the future. I want to post in the past too. Three people including me total would use it- wait a fucking minute. YOU CAN DO IT?!?!?!? SINCE WHEN???? THANK GOD;
- custom tabs. they added something like that with the notifications tab, but I want more options. I want to group blogs, and to make multiple ones. kinda like multis on reddit. the other tabs are also nice keep 'em;
- bring back fanmail. "but b, didn't asks and pms make them obsolete?" no. asks and pms demand an answer, a fanmail would just be a little blurb of appreciation with no strings attached. I've seen some artist say that they don't reply to compliment asks to keep them in a visible place to cheer them up, fanmails would do that. plus, I can't really remember them, but I think you could pick a font and a background too, that's nice :);
- do a fucking tutorial on how to edit themes. blease. all those {} variables make my head spin;
- the permalink page needs a revapm honestly, or one easier to implement in older themes? likes, comments, reblogs, and tags, should be divided like on the dashboard;
- It would be cool if in themes, along with the permalink, reblog, and like buttons, you could add a reply one, and it would take you to the "permalink reply section" or something. I'm thinking replies working like a comments section, would that be bad?;
- someone suggested that you should be able to redirect asks to someone else (maybe just followers or mutuals?). it would be funny;
- @followers and @mutuals to notify followers. everyone would hate it. that's the point;
- anonymous custom "reason why I blocked you" that notifies who you blocked. terrible idea;
- the reblog balls graph was perfect like it was before, I don't understand why they removed and then readded it with less features. your reblog and the op should be highlited, and you should see usernames. it also zoom in however it wants but I'm sure that's unintended;
- frames and hats for dashboard profile picture. even paid ones, and the ability to gift them (yo this website can't keep losing money or it'll close. this would be another harmless way to help. not me, I got nothin'). pimped nameblog url too, different fonts and colors;
- I would simply steal ask.fm's broadcast question function, all the "answer in the tags" posts are basically that.
I'm not sure how you'd ask one, but it'd look like an answered ask on the dash, it'd have a button to answer it yourself, and a tab to see other people's answers (you can make your answer unrebloggable);
- and facebook reaction too. liking a mutual's sad post feels weird. the likes tab has multiple counters for different reactions, and the "liked posts" page can be sorted this way too;
- and reddit's awards/achievements. for things like years on site, future april fools, partecipation in something, times you ended up on radar? (users should be able to hide anything they want);
- maybe custom awards/achievements too? like, users could decide to make awards and to assign them to a blog, and blogs would have a dedicated extra page? (extra like the archive one);
- and myspace's friend tier list. just because. (you should be able to add David Karp as number 1);
- more than one pinned post?;
- add polls already :(!;
- this is the most absurd one and it's almost certainly a bad idea, just sharing because could you fucking imagine?: blog review page like on trip advistor, goodreads, letterbox, ebay, etc. with stars and everything;
